HOW WEALTHY IS THE CATHOLIC CHURCH

How Wealthy is the Catholic Church?

Vatican-WealthWith the new Pope naming himself after arguably the most renowned beggar who ever lived – Francis of Assisi – some commentators are hoping that the Catholic Church will at last divest itself of the wealth it has been clinging to for thousands of years and begin to preach the authentic Gospel of Christ. These calls though are reminiscent of the Apostle Judas who protested at Mary Magdalene’s use of costly ointment on the feet of Jesus’ which was followed by the Gospel writers’ astute comment, “he did not say this because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief”. How many of those who criticise the Church for her alleged wealth are concerned about the poor rather than simply desiring to bring down the influence of Christianity in society? It is not wealth in and of itself that is evil but an inordinate attachment to it. None the less the Church does and should have a preferential option for the poor and Pope Francis has rightly expressed his desire for a Church that is poor and for the poor. So just how wealthy is the Catholic Church?
When people think of the supposed wealth of the Church they most likely picture the grandeur of St Peter’s Basilica and the works of art within the walls of the Vatican. It is wise to recall though that the Church does not consider itself the owners of these items but rather the custodians of them for all humanity. For if the Catholic Church had not safeguarded the great treasures of culture for two thousand years through war and through peace, who do we suppose was going to do it? Something else worth remembering is that many of the pieces that are today regarded as great works of art were originally created as works of devotion, and the only reason they have existed long enough to be considered so valuable, is again because the Catholic Church has watched over them with solicitude across the centuries.
The Vatican has for some years publically released its annual budget, although as a sovereign nation it is under no requirement to do so. The Vatican runs with an annual operating budget of around $300 million but keep in mind that the Vatican employs close to 3000 people and supports 1000 retirees. With that same money it keeps St Peter’s Basilica and the key Churches of Rome in operation, it maintains the Vatican museums and provides important missionary services such as the Vatican radio and newspaper. This budget does not include the monies that are sent in from the lay faithful around the world to support the charitable works of the Pope known as ‘Peter’s Pence’. Totaling around $70 million each year, Peter’s Pence is used to support ecclesial communities most often in mission countries who have no one else to turn too. The Vatican Bank, or more properly, the Institute for the Works of Religion, controls a much larger amount of money estimated to be around $6 billion, however most of it is not the money of the Vatican but religious orders, dioceses and Catholic organisations which use the money for their particular work of ministry and charity.
The specific ‘wealth’ of the Vatican does not cover the many dioceses in individual nations which essentially manage their own expenditure. As an example, it has been estimated by The Economist that the Catholic Church in the USA spends collectively in excess of $170 billion each year but this is not on caviar and fine wine. The money goes to fund healthcare, universities, schools, parishes, charities and the payroll of the one million people who work for the Church and make it all happen (this includes the tens of thousands of priests and religious who give their lives for Christ and the service of the Church and must be thus housed and provided for).
Those who think the Catholic Church has a lot of money are correct but those who think the Church holds onto money for the sake of it are incorrect. The Catholic Church is not a ‘fly by night’ organisation that is flippant about money. Working to bring the message of Jesus Christ to every generation and to serve the needs of humanity requires funds, and as the single most charitable private organisation on the planet the Catholic Church uses its money as a wise steward should.

Horror as patient wakes up in NY hospital with doctors trying to harvest her organs for transplant profits

Horror as patient wakes up in NY hospital with doctors trying to harvest her organs for transplant profits

Horror as patient wakes up in NY hospital with doctors trying to harvest her organs for transplant profits

(NaturalNews) I've warned Natural News readers about this several times over the last decade: Do NOT become an organ donor! Although you may wish to help others out of the goodness of your (literal) heart, the sinister truth is thatdoctors routinely harvest organs from LIVING patients right here in the USA.

And here's yet more proof. This true story will astound you.

Waking up on the organ harvesting table...

A woman named Colleen Burns recently opened her eyes to find herself on an operating table in a hospital in Syracuse, NY. Looking around, she noticed that she was the subject of the operation. It turns out doctors were about to harvest her organs and send them to other waiting surgeons who would transplant them into other patients.

This isn't fiction. It was covered by ABC News and several other news sources. It really happened.

And how did it happen? Doctors falsely pronounced her dead by fraudulently claiming she had suffered "cardiopulmonary arrest" and "irreversible brain damage." This gave them the medical justification to start slicing away even while the woman's heart was still beating.

This is a big "holy crap I didn't know that" fact about organ donations: Doctors don't wait until you're really dead. At least not by any normal definition of "dead."

See, you and I think "dead" means your heart isn't beating, your brain isn't functioning, and you're lifeless. But hospitals -- which happen to generate huge profits from the trade of transplant organs -- have a strong financial incentive to declare you "medically dead" long before you're actually lifeless.

They can, in fact, declare you "dead" even when your heart is still beating and you still have brain activity. And they often do. This is how a lot of the organ harvesting in America actually gets done: patients that are on the verge of death (but not yet actually dead) are simply "declared" dead, then their organs are quickly removed, killing them for good.

It's a crime that takes place every day in America, where U.S. hospitals have been caught over and over again engaging in black market organ trafficking.

A multi-billion-dollar industry

Organ trafficking is a multi-billion-dollar industry. Wealthy people around the world are always in need of new kidneys, new livers, new hearts and other body parts.

And guess who makes the money on all these organ transplants? The doctors, hospitals and drug companies, of course. Organ transplants are a hugely profitable industry -- largely because they get the organs for free. Patients who are killed by these doctors are never paid for their organs. The fact that they "donate" them actually means they are donating their immensely valuable organs to a for-profit system that's going to earn potentially millions of dollars off the organs of a single donor.

So while the donor patient gets murdered for his or her organs, the doctors engaged in organ removal and organ transplants get wealthy. Transplant recipients and health insurance companies pay huge dollars for organ transplant surgeries, and the profits are ongoing because transplant recipients must also pay for a long course of organ transplant anti-rejection drugs, all priced at monopoly prices (of course).

Truth be told, the organ transplant industry is all about money -- at any cost. It's about killing patients who might otherwise survive in order to take their organs and make millions of dollars transplanting them into other patients... patients who typically only have a few months to live even after the transplant.

Read: Global organ harvesting a booming black market business; a kidney harvested every hour.

Transplanted organs are often damaged or infested with disease

Here's another dirty little trick the organ transplant industry will never tell you: The organs that are transplanted into other patients are often fatally damaged and full of infectious diseases.

As yet more proof of this, take the case of Colleen Burns, mentioned above. She tried to commit suicide by taking a toxic combination of prescription medications. According to the doctors, this toxic cocktail of chemicals was fatal, and it killed her (they pronounced her dead).

Yet, simultaneously, they still insisted her organs were healthy enough to transplant into another patient! That's why they almost began harvesting them.

In other words, even organs that doctors know are heavily damaged with toxic chemical cocktails will still be transplanted into other patients! (This is 100% true.)

But it's even worse than that...

Transplant organs often riddled with disease: hepatitis, stealth viruses, mad cow disease and more

There are effectively zero quality standards in the organ transplant industry. If the organ still functions at any level, it's "good enough" to be slapped into a transplant patient even though that organ might actually kill them.

One of the reasons organ transplant patients often die so quickly after receiving transplants is because the organs they often receive are ticking time bombs of disease.

Introducing a diseased heart or kidney into someone's body, for example, can suddenly infest that person with hundreds or even thousands of viruses and blood-borne illnesses that quickly overcome their weakened immune systems. This is made even worse by the anti-rejection drugs which, by definition, cause extreme suppression of immune function.

So at the exact time that new diseases are being introduced into the transplant recipient's body, their immune system is being undermined by anti-rejection drugs. Not surprisingly, this is a recipe for disaster, and that's one reason why so many patients die so quickly after receiving "donor" organs.

Iraq war veteran killed by cancer-ridden transplant lungs

As an example of what I just described above, in 2009, an Iraq war veteran named Matthew Millington was given a lung transplant using lungs that wereriddled with a fast-growing cancer.

Not surprisingly, he died less than 10 months later. Did all the organ transplant doctors and surgeons give him a refund for their botched procedure? Of course not! Organ transplants do not come with warranties, and you're often given a diseased, damaged or heavily infested organ that's going to kill you. (But you still gotta pay up!)

There are roughly 100,000 people waiting for organ transplants in the USA right now. But there are only a fraction of that number of organs available in any given year, so doctors are under intense pressure to 1) harvest organs from people who aren't yet dead, and 2) use ANY organs they can find, even organs that are riddled with disease.

Again, these are the dirty little secrets of the organ transplant industry that you'll never be told by any doctor. Expect to hear nothing but denials if you ask organ transplant doctors about any of this.

More healthy organ donors "need to suddenly die"

The other challenge the transplant industry faces is that healthy people who take care of their organs through nutrition and exercise simply don't tend to die very often. The kind of people most likely to die (and therefore most like to donate organs) are alcoholics, drug addicts and people who are obese and diseased. Therefore, those are the kind of organs that end up being available for transplant: nasty "fatty" livers and cancerous lungs, for example.

Ideally, the organ transplant industry would like to see a lot of young, healthy people getting decapitated in military training exercises or automobile accidents. That would supply a fresh supply of healthy organs that might actually be worth transplanting. In China, of course, this is why Falun Gong members are routinely arrested and imprisoned: they eat super-healthy diets and so have high-grade organs that can be profitably harvested from political prisoners there.

The practice of arresting people, imprisoning them and sometimes even murdering them for their organs is a lot more widespread than you think. How do you suppose Steve Jobs got a new liver so quickly, even while thousands of other people were waiting for one? He bought it. Gee, do you really think Steve Jobs stood in line like everyone else and then magically a liver appeared for him much faster than for anyone else?

Presumed consent

There is a push under way around the world to harvest organs from everyone who doesn't explicitly say no. These laws are called "presumed consent" laws, and they exist only to provide a fresh supply of human organs to generate billions of dollars in profits for the sick, criminal-minded organ transplant industry.

As a 2011 article in the British Medical Journal explains, these "presumed consent" laws mean doctors can start harvesting the organs of your wife, your children or other loved ones without even asking family members for permission!

As the BMJ article explains:

Presumed consent is alternatively known as an 'opt-out' system and means that unless the deceased has expressed a wish in life not to be an organ donor then consent will be assumed. This can be divided into what is known as a 'hard opt-out' where the family are not consulted.

There's even a website about this -- PresumedConsent.org -- which uses a lot of flowery language and feel-good imagery to hide the fact that it's pushing for doctors to pronounce more patients "dead" and take their organs so that the organ transplant industry can make a few billion more dollars each year.

What we're talking about here is coercive organ harvesting in order to feed the organ trafficking and transplant industries.

Think about that the next time some clueless paper-pusher asks you at the DMV, "Do you want to be an organ donor?"

Just answer: "No thanks. I prefer that doctors actually try to keep me alive."

Don't give doctors any incentive to kill you. They already kill enough patients even when they aren't trying.

Trust me on this: say NO to organ donation. If you really want to help people, teach them to protect the organs God already gave them through superfoods, nutrition, exercise and healthy living.

Two Marines Pray the Rosary

From the Marines to Making Rosaries

Two burly former Marines, Joseph and Rocco Nasiatka of Pawcatuck, Connecticut -- who are also twin brothers --  have revealed to us what appear to be unique and credible apparitions of the Virgin Mary.
They're not seers; each saw her once. But it was something they could never forget. For Rocco, it happened in Viet Nam, about 18 miles from Da Nang. He was based with Delta Company, first battalion, Seventh Marines. One night at the end of June in 1968, Rocco, who operated an M-60 machine gun, was stationed on a ambush at what was called Hill 41. He was sitting there watching for the enemy as others slept when suddenly Mary was there with no forewarning, just hovering in front of his sights. "She was absolutely beautiful," he recounts. "I tell people flat out, I wasn't dwelling on the religious. I was dwelling on survival. And at that time we used to go out on night ambushes. What you do is basically look for the enemy and a lot of times you wouldn't see the enemy and it would be just mundane boredom. This one particular night I saw a vision of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was elevated off the ground, she was in blue, and she said I was to be wounded, that my life was 'mitigated.' That was the word. I was to die inViet Nam. I had felt that -- I had felt before I left for Viet Nam that I had been marked for death, and others worried about this too -- but I still did it because it was my duty, I was a Marine."
He had been marked to death but that fate was about to be lessened. It was going to be lessened because of prayers, says Rocco, now in his fifties.
Instead of death, the Lord was going to send him a physical suffering.
"She was barefoot and elevated off the ground," he continues about the apparition. "She said, 'How do you feel about a disability?' She said, 'It will be severe.' I said I could deal with it if my brain was intact."
The former Marine says he saw the Virgin with his eyes wide open and in the pose of Our Lady of Grace, but all in blue, "more like an electric blue, vibrant, beautiful. She was all blue and she just appeared right in front of me."
The Virgin told Rocco his life was to be spared and when she foresaw that he would be wounded she pointed to her own left hand and said he would have a severe disability -- specifically predicting what would occur a week later, something that, in retelling, still gives Rocco goose bumps. "Wow! You know? Then she came later and asked for like input, 'How do you feel about this,' and I said as long as my mind was intact, I can deal with a disability."
The prophecy was precisely fulfilled -- in what is one of the most remarkable visitations we've heard about -- a week later. While on night ambush on July 4, 1968, Rocco had rested his hand atop the machinegun's feed cover when his unit was fired upon. Four bullets ravaged his left hand while another hit between the fingers of his right hand. Meanwhile the left hand and its position atop the gun was just right to deflect the bullets from striking his head while the bullet in his right hand went through skin without touching bone! "When the Holy Mother talked to me, she'd said it would be my left index finger that would be amputated, and what they did was take a good portion of my hand because gangrene had set in," Rocco says. "They did take the finger off too. But the one on the right hand, if you could see it, you'd wonder how it could happen. It went through the skin only and didn't hit a bone, a pure miracle, plain and simple."
Born on Easter Sunday 1949 both Rocco and his brother Joseph had grown up in a very devout home, and in fact had begun making rosaries when they were 12. But they had lost their feel for religion in the Marines. Joseph was a sergeant who served in Guam while Rocco was in Viet Nam, and as Joseph says, the Marines "took the holiness out of us."
They do not look like standard seers. They look like they would be more at home working a dock than kneeling in a church. But as it happens, Joseph too has seen Mary. His apparition occurred 27 years after his brother's, while he was in his bedroom.  She appeared out of the blue -- once again was just there -- and when she arrived, all else, everything in the room, disappeared.
"It was September 1995 that the Blessed Mother appeared to me," says Joseph. "When I saw her she was absolutely beautiful. I was a military policeman, and so [when the apparition later occurred] I took in a lot of details. She looked about 25 years of age, very beautiful, very small stature. She wasn't large. And she was barefoot.
"She had like a blue shawl and I asked her, point blank, why did you intervene for my brother, because I remembered that she had seen my brother in Viet Nam, and she said, 'It was your mother's tears and prayers that had gotten my attention.' I asked her to explain to me why that would happen, and she made a gesture with her hands. And she said, 'In life there's a life stream,' and she said, 'Your brother was to die in Viet Nam.' That's what she said. And she said, 'I asked the Father for mercy, and mercy was granted.'
"I was very analytical," says Rocco. "I was questioning her. I told her I didn't understand that. When I said that, she spread her hands apart like Our Lady of Grace and said, 'I have great love for all of humanity' -- and when she said this there were waves of her love, her most beautiful love, her precious hands were apart, and there was like love coming from her hands into me like an ocean. It was rolling into me and it was beautiful. It was fantastic. When I saw her, everything else disappeared around me. She had roses strewn at her feet. She was about five-foot tall. The remarkable thing was the love coming out of her. I told my mother about it the next day. Somebody said it was because I was immersed in the faith, but that isn't so. I hadn't even been in a church. And then in October of that year, my mother suffered a series of heart attacks and what happened was that I actually came back to the faith at her deathbed. The Holy Spirit came into me."
Now, waiting to retire from jobs with the Groton Department of Utilities, the two brothers make rosaries that exude an indescribable grace. It's their mission. The Virgin had told them that they were to be holy and do many acts for her, and that's exactly what happened. She said we would be her servants and bring many people to Jesus. So now these two former Marines make rosaries! They have never charged money. They give them freely. They feel it must come from the "sweat of the brow." Tears come as they're doing them, and they wash some rosaries with those tears. They stopped counting at 1,000. The beads are not just among the most beautiful we've seen but imbued with a great spiritual feeling. Those to whom the rosaries are given have experienced beautiful things: healings, conversions, one woman who was saved from suicide. Occasionally they feel spoken to, and in 1996 Joseph was invited to consecrate to her due to the "dire times." He too still gets goose bumps. "I was told it would be like entering her ark of protection," says Joseph of his relation with the Virgin Mary, "and I knew this was what I was born for."
Second story

Now (we) want to look at what has happened since: what kinds of things have occurred recently, and what other experiences the two brothers, now in their fifties (and employed by the Groton Department of Utilities), have had. We do so because of the outpouring of response, and because there are indications that their ministry of making rosaries has been attached to miracles (indications that, of course, need to be documented).  Indeed, those to whom they have given their hand-made beads have claimed everything from emotional healing and protection against car crashes to alleged remissions of cancer.
It is those "most in need" to whom the brothers minister, and they decline to take any money for the rosaries -- which many find to glow beyond their remarkable, beautiful crystal and which are imbued with the result of their nearly palpable devotion. Both men formally consecrated themselves to the Virgin Mary after Joseph's apparition in 1995. They have made more than a thousand rosaries and the graces associated with them are reportedly numerous. Joseph says that in one case his wife had given a physical therapist at South County Hospital in Wakefield, Connecticut, a pair and the therapist had in turn given them to a daughter who later had an accident. The rosaries had been hung from the rearview mirror and the daughter got through a horrid crash with hardly a scratch. Recalls Joseph: "The car looked like it had been through a shredder, and there was only the rosary and the mirror, with streams of lights hitting the rosary when this woman went to see the daughter's wreck."
They know it is not them. They know they are "vessels." They have tried to remain "cloistered." They know those who really need them will find them -- and it is to those they gladly minister. In one dream Joseph saw "seven flaming spiritual creatures" who were humanlike but both terrifying and majestic. He believes they represented the gifts of the Spirit. Often, the experiences come with little forewarning. Recounts Joseph: "We went to this restaurant and this woman who was a waitress heard that I was giving away rosaries, and she was wanting very much my rosary and it broke my heart that all my rosaries had been given away. But I had a Miraculous Medal that a priest had given me and I was thinking of giving her my Miraculous Medal instead of the rosary and the Blessed Mother in an inner allocution told me that she had written her name on my heart and for me to give this woman my Miraculous Medal. She knew it meant a lot to me because it was given to me by a priest. She had said, `I have not written my name among many hearts, but I have written my name upon yours,' and enough said." When the waitress came around Joseph gave her the medal and as he did the Holy Spirit entered the woman so strongly that some of those who worked with her were ready to call an ambulance. The woman was trembling and weeping but describing the experience as fantastic.
"Another time, I was given the image of a woman's face," says Joseph. "She worked in a post office in a town right near where my dad lived and I was told she was in much need of my rosary. I had seen her but didn't know her name, and I was told to go over to her and give her one of the healing rosaries. I immediately went over and gave her a rosary and I said, 'I don't know what your problems are, but I was told you are in much need.' Immediately, as if someone had turned on a spigot, the tears came flowing down from her eyes and she said, 'I'm speechless.' She put it around her neck and called me later on and said what happened was that she had severe back problems. She had some kind of an operation and it caused her to have severe problems and when she put the rosary on the rosary healed her."
There are other accounts of protection. In Ashaway, Rhode Island, was a woman who put a pair of the rosaries on her bedpost and a month later there was a freak accident. In this instance a car crashed through her home into her living room but stopped at the bedroom. In another case Joseph went to a Catholic gift shop to get a holy image for another person in need and just before he left felt "told" to take a healing rosary with him because he would be seeing a person in much need. It turned out to be a woman who owned the shop. "I went over in faith and again I presented my rosary to this woman and told her I didn't know what her circumstance was, but that I was told she was in much need of healing, and she was astonished. She said, 'Who told you?' I told the story and gave her a rosary I call the 'Sword of the Spirit,' and she started crying. What I found out was that she had just lost a 26-year-old daughter and she had donated one of her kidneys to try to save her daughter's life but it didn't happen and the mother was extremely heartbroken. The next time I came in, she said, `I was heartbroken. I had lost all zest for life. But when I received that healing rosary I could feel God's love heal my heart.' Even though it was a terrible ordeal, she has moved on. She says she feels wonderful. That made me so happy. All these graces are to remind us to have oneness with Jesus through Mary."
The brothers, no-nonsense types, but totally open to God, believe the rosaries are the result of the Virgin's flow of God's power. "When the Blessed Mother was in front of me, I was absorbing those graces and that's why the rosaries are so powerful," says Joseph. "They're her graces. They are not of earth. When the Blessed Mother was standing in front of me, and she told me she had great love for all humanity, it was pretty much like Our Lady of Grace when the graces came out of her hands, and as I was standing there I actually was absorbing those graces, and as they were coming out of her they were coming out of me and that's why these rosaries are so powerful -- because of her graces."
Often, the ministry of these two burly ex-Marines is to women and children. Joseph consecrated himself to the Immaculate Heart first, and then Rocco, who had not yet fully come to Mary despite his Viet Nam apparition, consecrated himself after a second experience.
This was in 1996, and unlike the apparition in Viet Nam, this time her voice came from an indistinct ball of blue light that appeared to him. "It was in my bedroom as I was praying," says Rocco, who like his brother has had only one full-scale apparition. "I wasn't forced to consecrate. I had to think about it and she said she wasn't forcing me. She doesn't say you must do that. She just said she would be pleased."
He consecrated himself and since that time the vocation of rosaries -- something that they had been taught to do in childhood, but that they had lost touch with during their years as hardened Marines -- has quietly exploded. They are constant witnesses to the Lord's goodness. They repeatedly see both small and great happenings. "God always gives help when you need it," says Joseph. "You just have to look for it."
Not everyone is healed. In fact, Joseph's own wife died of breast cancer. But so many have touched the goodness. At a spiritual level, the rosaries are nearly delectable. We have experienced them ourselves. They seem otherworldly. According to Rocco they were going to Adoration at St. Michael's Church one day when they encountered a relative with a friend who had cancer and while on Interstate 95 felt "told" to go immediately to this church. As it happens, the Nasiatka twins were in the parking lot and when the brothers prayed over her, she too trembled, broke into a sweat, and later claimed a remission had occurred at that point. "I saw her later and she was beaming," says the former Marine. "She said she was free of cancer. We tell people, don't look to us. We're just conduits."
The Lord heals those who are in His plan to be healed and does so in this case through faith -- and the rosaries. They are "shock waves" of goodness, says Joseph. The message is to think of one another. All they ask in return for a rosary is for people to do is something good for someone else. "It's God's way," Joseph says.
It is the opinion of Joseph, who saw the Virgin in September of 1995, that the 1990s spelled a decade in which there was the beginning of a "change of heart" in humanity but that it was also the onset of "much sorrow and chastisement". Both my brother and I knew there were going to be world events that would force mankind to go onto a different path, that were going to make people consider loving one another and also forgiveness. There were going to be things happening that would wake people out to stopping their way of living for selfishness, anger, and cruelty to one another. God's way is love and forgiveness.
I knew the 1990s were the beginning, and that the year 2000 and beyond would be critical." He pointed out strange weather events, and said, "I saw in the 1990s a lot of extraordinary events, storms of the century, and these were like wake-up calls. What I think is that the screws of life are going to be tightening down further for chastisement and mankind is going to be brought to the point where we understand that we're all in this together. Everyone is going to be made to put the other person first. This is God's way, to serve one another. What's going to happen is that there will be events that make us value life, because there may be points in time where innocents are going to be murdered, and it's going to be horrifying and bring mankind a change of heart.
All of this is for our own good. I know some things were mitigated. I think Halloween was an especially crucial time. I was kind of told that there were things that could have happened but that God has smiled upon us and saw how man people were going into prayer."
Joseph, who along with brother Rocco now has a ministry of making rosaries, said he happened to send a "blood-red" rosary to a close friend and as if an omen it arrived to her on September 11. "A lot of things were mitigated, things that could have happened," he believes of last autumn. "The message is to think of one another."
Rocco, whose apparition occurred 27 years before (while manning a machine gun in Viet Nam), comments that "the times are getting critical and you have to protect yourself." The last time Rocco had a direct experience was in 1996, when he saw a "bluish ball of light" while praying and heard the Virgin's voice. There was no prophecy (the Virgin was inviting him to consecrate himself), but it's his impression that "the end of our civilization could have happened in the 1990s. We had great floods and a lot of catastrophic things happening. I firmly believe that Mary held back the wrath of God's Hand. She let people mature in their faith, and she let more souls through. I believe there were catastrophes that she held back, but I think we're on borrowed time. It's just a feeling. To me the early 1990s were when things were critical -- weather, storms that hadn't happened like that in centuries."
But events, he warns, have only been held off. When Rocco talks about "borrowed time," he points to things like Harry Potter, which he calls "the most pressing issue" because it spreads a "diabolical" effect on young minds.

In the middle of our dark, secular, godless society, there is a light.  This light is the Holy Roman Catholic Church.  Jesus Christ and His Church teach the truth about homosexuality, and we can summarize this truth in three points:

(1)  Homosexual acts are acts of grave depravity; they are mortal sins which cry to heaven for vengeance.  Under no circumstances can they be approved.
(2)  Homosexuality is an objective disorder.
(3)  Homosexual persons are to be treated with respect, compassion, and sensitivity.

In the debate over homosexuality, the dark side seeks to frame the issue as one of discrimination and civil rights.  This makes no logical sense.  No one has a civil right to do something morally wrong.  I don’t have a right to steal.  I don’t have a right to lie.  I don’t have a right to commit adultery, and I don’t have a right to engage in homosexual acts.  As for discrimination, discrimination exists when one is against a person not when one is against actions on the part of a person.  The Roman Catholic Church condemns actions of a homosexual nature.  She does not discriminate against homosexual persons.

Thus, before anyone speaks about discrimination and/or civil rights, the following questions must be answered:
(1)          Do you believe in right and wrong?
(2)          How do you determine what is right and what is wrong?
(3)          Does society have an obligation to establish law and order in accordance with its best effort to determine right and wrong?

Thus, before anyone speaks about discrimination and/or civil rights, the following question must be answered:
(1)          Are homosexual acts right or wrong?
If a Catholic does not believe and hold fast to the truth that homosexual acts are wrong, one is no longer Catholic.  Such a “Catholic” must refrain from receiving our Blessed Lord in Holy Communion, because one is no longer in communion with the moral truths taught by Jesus Christ and His Church.
In conclusion, no one on the face of this earth has a greater love for homosexuals that the glorious Roman Catholic Church.  But it is never loving to lie.  If you lie to homosexuals and tell them that “homosexual acts are o.k,” then you are the one who is showing disdain for homosexuals, because you don’t care about their true good, happiness, and salvation.
Sancta Dei Genetrix, ora pro nobis.

DR. JOSEPH DUTKOWSKY (Orthopedic Surgeon): This is a young person who has a genetic missing piece of I think genetic 6 chromosome.
BOB FAW, correspondent: In a busy clinic in rural upstate New York, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Joseph Dutkowsky sees hundreds of children and adults disabled by disorders which leave them crippled or deformed. Or in the case of 19 year old Omer King Jr., blind and deaf from a metabolic dysfunction.
DUTKOWSKY: (speaking to patient) And we are going to pull. One, two, three.
FAW: As a doctor, everything Dutkowsky does is informed by his deep Catholic faith.
DUTKOWSKY: (speaking to nurse) Let’s get Jr. out here.
Was it St. Francis who said, “To preach the Gospel at all times, use words if necessary.” And so, you do it with your actions. People don’t need for me to preach at them. People don’t need for me to lecture them. They need, they need for me to care. They need for me to walk in with the love of God and to try and share it in any way that I can.

FAW: Whether treating Jr. or two married cerebral palsy patients, Josie and Chris Rosa.
DUTKOWSKY: (to Chris Rosa) You look like you should be bringing in an aircraft with that on it or something.
(to Josie Rosa): What you up to? You’re looking well today.
JOSIE ROSA: Yeah. We got to talk.
DUTKOWSKY: We got to talk. We can talk. That’s for sure.
FAW: Dr. Dutkowsky is unfailingly patient, willing to listen no matter how long it takes.
JOSIE: I know this might sound strange but can you test me for osteoarthritis?
DUTKOWSKY: (to Josie) Yeah. I’m happy to do that.
Patients like this, they need me to listen to them. They need somebody who cares enough to listen to their story, because they all have a story, they all have a need.
FAW: 57 year old Dutkowsky was an engineer when he says he got the calling to become a doctor.
DUTKOWSKY: I applied to medical school and I wrote my essay. I wrote that I wanted to take some of this technology and figure out a way to help people with disabilities. Now there’s nobody disabled in my family. There was nobody that I knew of who had a disability that I was thinking about when I did it. So I, I would take that as a Holy Spirit moment.

(to Jeremiah): Run, run, run back.
FAW: Most days here, Dutkowsky sees 25 to 30 patients like 8 year old Jeremiah Harrington, born with a club foot. For each patient, Dutkowsky uses an old-fashioned, leisurely approach rarely encountered in modern medical practice today.
DUTKOWSKY: (to Jeremiah) Can I look at your feet? Can I look at your feet? Thank you.
From a spiritual standpoint what I try and do as a physician is that even if I can’t cure the situation, even if I can’t cure the condition, if even I can’t make it all go away, if they’re being overburdened with that cross, if I can just hold up a corner sometimes, it might make it light enough for them to be able to carry it and move on.
FAW: Here in the country, he does more than just listen, give injections and comfort to anxious parents. Every Monday at the Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, he operates on severely disabled children and before each surgery, he prays.
DUTKOWSKY: It’s an overwhelming responsibility. And if I try and go in there on my own I run so many risks of failure. But if I come in and I and ask God to be with me and help me, that even in those cases where it might not work out perfectly, I’m with him and I can be in peace.
(while driving): I was born and raised in the country. I love being out here.
FAW: Dutkowsky isn’t anchored to the country though. Every week, crucifix nearby, he drives into New York City to see patients, three hours plus on the road often spent in prayer.

DUTKOWSKY: It’s a prayer to the Holy Spirit. It’s “Holy Spirit, soul of my soul, I adore thee. Enlighten, guide, strengthen and console me. Tell me what to do and command me to do it.”
FAW: Here, anywhere for that matter, Joseph Dutkowsky is not reluctant to display his faith.
DUTKOWSKY: Good morning, good day. Hello, God bless you. How you doing?
EMILY: Good.
FAW: But he never imposes his beliefs on anyone.
DUTKOWSKY: I’m not out there to tell them what to believe. But if I make that opening, and it’s important to them, then it can be part of their care.
FAW: It is a ministry he takes each week to New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital where at the Cerebral Palsy Center he sees patients like 10 year old Devon Ramsaram.
HARICHARD RAMSARAM (Devon’s father): After this shot, can we send him to school tomorrow?
FAW: Dutkowsky hopes the medical community will learn, from treatments pioneered here, how to treat cerebral palsy patients not just when they’re young but also as they grow older.

DUTKOWSKY: Country doctor, coming down to wonderful, you know, one of the finest medical centers in the world. I was way out of my comfort zone. But what’s the risk? If I fail, yeah, I got a little egg on my face. Big deal. But if we succeed, we can move the world.
JENNIFER SNYDER: (to Dr. Dutkowsky) He can’t get comfortable.
FAW: Two year old Nathan has a rare congenital disorder. His mother Jennifer feels about the same as most parents do when it comes to Dr. D as he is affectionately called.
SNYDER: He listens, yes. He’s a listener. He understands. He takes the time to educate a person such as myself.
CHRIS ROSA: A lot of doctors don’t listen. They just want to do what they gotta do for you and go away. Just because we may look funny doesn’t mean you should talk over us or through us.
FAW: It’s not like that with Dr. D though is it.
JOSIE ROSA: No, No. Because Dr. Dutkowsky would never treat us any different. He treats us with respect and decency.
FAW: And knowing that Dutkowsky is a man of faith reassures many, even non-Christians like Devon’s father Harichard Ramsaram.

HARICHARD RAMSARAM: Well it does, it does make me feel comfortable because it means that he has some sense of responsibility in what he does. You know what I’m saying? Because whoever believes in God does have a sense of caring, guidance. You know what I’m saying?
FAW: Treating so many young disabled patients might shake a person’s faith in a merciful God.
(to Dr. Dutkowsky): Do ever ask yourself why did God let that happen?
DUTKOWSKY: No, I don’t, because what I see when I see Omer, I go in that room and I feel love. It’s an energy from outside that draws me in.
FAW: There are bodies that are, forgive me, misshapen, malformed, twisted, crippled, and you see in that the likeness of God?
DUTKOWSKY: Yes, I do. I see the image and likeness of God in every one of those individuals.
FAW: For Dr. Dutkowsky then, faith and medicine intersect, complement one another. Seeing affliction, he also finds something meaningful.
DUTKOWSKY: There are days I go home with tears in my eyes because suffering is real. But sharing suffering is a gift. The depth of that love, the depth of that commitment, the depth of working with individuals like that, that’s the privilege.
FAW: Dutkowsky says he doesn’t heal, that only God can do that. In the meantime, this old-fashioned man of faith and modern man of science continues a ministry to both body and soul.
DUTKOWSKY: All right, God love you.
FAW: For Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly, this is Bob Faw in Delphi, New York.

Iodine can prevent or help cure breast cancer

Iodine can prevent or help cure breast cancer

(NaturalNews) If you or a woman close to you were advised to have a double mastectomy performed in order to prevent breast cancer, shouldn't another option be available? Medical mutilations have been performed lately on women told they are genetically predisposed to getting breast cancer.

That other option could be a good diet with supplemental iodine. Exactly why iodine offers the other option for preventing breast cancer regardless of genetics is referenced later in this article.

Dr. David Brownstein could be called Dr. Iodine for all he's done to inform others of the importance of iodine through interviews and his book Iodine: Why You Need It; Why You Can't Live Without It.

Dr. Mark Sircus, who occasionally contributes articles to Natural News, constantly promotes bicarbonate of soda, magnesium, and iodine as more important and effective for health than most realize.

Now, Dr. Jeffrey Dach has grabbed the iodine talking stick, producing several international clinical, lab, and case study reports that demonstrate the efficacy of iodine ingestion for breast cancer.

Dr. Dach on iodine

Salt used to be iodized with elemental iodine to prevent goiter, but no more. So what little protection that offered has vanished. Dr. Dach notes that iodized salt is not sufficient for supplementing iodine.

Iodine's RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) is 150 mcg (micrograms) per day. Dr. Guy Abraham, who initially mentored Dr. Brownstien, insists we should be taking in 12.5 mg (milligrams) of elemental iodine daily. This is 100 times greater than our RDA.
It's also the estimated iodine per individual intake from seaweed and seafood among Japan's population. Japan has the lowest rates of thyroid, prostate, andbreast cancer. Some might argue that the Japanese get their iodine from food, but iodine supplements are unsafe.

Well, the FDA recommends 165 mg of iodine to prevent thyroid cancer in the event of a radiation emergency, and iodine has been used medicinally with even higher doses in the past.

Speaking of thyroid cancer, there has been an upsurge of thyroid nodules, leading to complete removal of thyroid glands to determine whether the nodules are cancerous.

Some biopsy! Even if no cancer is detected, the person is sentenced to a lifetime of synthetic prescription thyroid hormones. Iodine can prevent that unhealthy scenario.

In addition to preventing some cancers, there are several studies and actual case histories demonstrating iodine's ability to cure breast cancer.

Lab studies and breast cancer case histories

Here's that option for stemming genetically predisposed breast cancer. Iodine has been determined to actually alter breast cancer associated gene expressions. It turns off cancer promoting genes and turns on genes that promote cancer cell apoptosis or cellular destruction. (http://www.medsci.org/v05p0189)

Another study proves that large iodine intake does not adversely affect thyroid hormone production or quality. The researchers did this to allay concerns in the medical profession about potential downsides for using iodine against breast cancer. Downsides don't prevent using chemo and radiation though.
Dr. Dach lists many international in vivo studies using rats, epidemiological human surveys, and in vitro (petri dish) lab studies demonstrating the efficacy and safety of ingesting elemental iodine for cancerous tumors. All of these studies, with a few actual case histories, are available in Dr. Jeffrey Dach's articles sourced below.

Dr. Guy Abraham developed a product called Idoral. And Dr. Edward Group, DC, ND, lists four types of iodine supplements that vary in bio-availability: Nascent iodine, Lugol's solution, potassium iodide, and transformative nano-colloidal detoxified iodine.

The cancer industry's willful denial of iodine for breast cancer is not because it's ineffective and dangerous. It's because supplemental iodine can't be patented.
